Baloch Tribes Rebel Against Pakistani Government

The rebels fired dozens of mortars on Pakistani troops, who returned fire but missed guerrilla positions. The Marri and Bugti tribes have been battling Pakistani forces since December when rebels fired rockets during a visit by President Pervez Musharraf. Rebels say that the Pakistani government takes their region's gas and mineral reserves but gives little in return to Balochistan, the poorest province in Pakistan.
